Day 1: Tehran,
Depart , flight to Tehran. O/N Tehran
Day 2: Tehran,
Arrive Tehran and transfer . Late morning your guide will
collect you for a city tour of Tehran, including the famed crown
jewels, the Golestan Palace and the Archaeological Museum.
Day 3: Tehran-Kermanshah
– Hamadan, Fly to Kermanshah in the west of the country, home to
a large Kurdish minority. Visit nearby Taghe Bostan with its
marvellous Sassanian bas reliefs dating from the 4th century AD.
Continue to the village of Lalejin famous for its pottery and
take a boat ride through the enormous Ali Sadr underground
caves. Continue to Hamadan and visit the Mausoleum of Avicenna,
the famous medieval philosopher and the tomb of Esther, the
Jewish wife of the Persian King Xerxes. Overnight in Hamadan.
Day 4: Hamedan - Qom - Kashan, Travel
to the holy city of Qom. In 816 Fatima, the sister of Imam Reza
was buried here and it is now a place of pilgrimage with some
magnificent mosques and shrines. Overnight in Kashan, a world
heritage site, also famous for its annual harvest of roses.
Visit the beautiful Fin Garden and Agha Bozorg Mosque.
Day 5: Kashan -
Yazd, Leaving Kashan, travel through the desert to Yazd, one of
the oldest cities in the world and the centre of Zoroastrianism.
See the Zoroastrian fire temples, the wind towers and explore
the old city made of sun-dried bricks with its labyrinthine
alleyways.
Day 6: Yazd -
Shiraz, Continue your sightseeing tour of Yazd including the
Zoroastrian Towers of Silence and the Jame Mosque. Afternoon
drive to Shiraz and overnight.
Day 7: Shiraz, Discover the delightful
Eram Gardens, the Vakil Mosque and the mausoleum of Hafez the
famous medieval poet.
Day 8: Shiraz -
Persepolis - Isfahan, In the morning visit the magnificent
archaeological site of Persepolis, capital of the Persian Empire
built in the 6th century BC. Evening flight to Isfahan
Day 9: Isfahan, Full day sightseeing
tour of Isfahan. Emam Square with the superb Emam and Sheikh
Lotfollah mosques, the Ali Qapu Palace and the medieval bridges
of Isfahan. Shop for a bargain in the bazaar, with 5km of narrow
alleyways.
Day 10: Isfahan, Continue
sightseeing in Isfahan with visits to the Forty Columns and
Eight Heavens Palaces. On to Jolfa the Armenian quarter of
Isfahan, to see Vank Cathedral and lastly the Shaking Minarets.
Day 11: Isfahan - Tehran, A free day in
Isfahan for shopping or relaxing. Transfer to the airport for an
early evening flight to Tehran. Overnight in Tehran.
Day 12: Tehran - Airport, Transfer to the airport for the
direct morning Iran Air flight to your country. |
